This painting is my first plain air painting.  Sand Dollar Beach is about 1.5 hours south of Pacific Grove on Highway 1.  It's about 60 miles away.  It is one of my favorite beaches and is a great drive down the coast to get there.  I painted it on the rim of the bay above the beach on a beautiful 80 degree day.  I found that keeping my paint wet and my skin unburned to be the greatest challenges.
