This was the second still life of our class. We were applying the skills we learned from the previous lesson using a wipe away technique. I prepped the canvas with a mixture of yellow oxide and medium cadmium yellow pigment. Then, while adding glycerin to the paint to slow the drying time, applied a mixture of burnt sienna and raw umber pigment to the canvas to form the shapes. The lights in the shapes were created using a wipe away or removal of the pigment with the brush or paper towel.
